Carers Mid Week Nature Ramble

Following the success of the September Carers Nature Ramble, the Carers Centre together with Wigan Flashes Conservation Group are holding monthly walks  around Wigan Flashes on the last Wednesday of each month.The next one will be on

The Carers centre is working with ' Colourfields Arts' on a series of Art Projects including canvas painting, collage painting and acrylic, pastels and pallete knives*. No experience necessary.

Collaged Art Journey 5 Week Course

Dates: Monday October 23rd, 30th, November 6th,13th,20th

Time: 10.00am-12.00pm

Venue: Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre

This course offers carers the opportunity to stretch their creative talents through collage and mixed media. Experiment with various papers, surfaces and colours to create some fabulous images.

Men's Social Group

Date:  First Thursday of the Month

Time:  1.00pm-2.30pm

Venue: Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre, 3-5 Frederick Street, Hindley

Especially for male carers in the Wigan Borough, the Carers Centre now has a Men’s Social Group that meet on the first Thursday of every month. If you are male carer why not come along to this informal get together for a brew and meet other carers. No need to book just come along on the day.

Fourth Kick off Your Shoes and Dance Course now finalised. 

Places are now being offered to carers on the fourth Kick Off Your Shoes and Dance six week course. Come along to this really successful course, enjoy the music and learn how to dance the Salsa, Charleston, Rumba and more. Absolute beginner’s welcome. 

 Dates: Tuesday November 7th,14th 21st,28th December 5th, 12th.

 Time:   11.00am-12.00pm

The Reading Group is Back

Thanks to the Reader Organisation we are delighted to welcome back

The Reading Group here at the Carers Centre.

Keeping the same day as before the  group will be held each week  starting on Wednesday 10th August at 11.00am-12.30pm.

Anyone wishing to attend the group can just turn up on the day and will be made very welcome.

Book a  Free one to one support session on Tuesday afternoons here at the Carers Centre with Mark which could include how to use a laptop and  an iPad.

Do you want to learn how to send emails, book things on line, how to use the internet or put your CV on the Job universal  website? Or maybe how to keep in touch with friends. This service has been extended to show carers how they can access the new Wigan Council Community Book.
